Targeted Audience: Community therapists or school staff members who have participated in implementing the Resilient response to the Effects of Stress and Trauma (REST) Program.

Training Description:
This is a morning of updates and a best practice refresher for the entire REST Program, including universal screening, student consults, group formation, and group facilitation. With help from last year's data and outcomes, we will strategize how to set ourselves up for a successful upcoming 2024-2025 school year with the REST Program.

Learning Objectives:
At the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  1. Appraise their school’s screener implementation by reviewing the data from last year, pre-planning, and problem-solving around barriers to implementation.
  2. Evaluate and analyze their school’s practices of student consultations and their significance by reviewing data from the 2023 -24 school year, defining new methods as a group that were implemented for the successful completion of student consults, and sharing guidelines on the percentage of student consults completed and the timeframe for completion.
  3. Demonstrate their understanding through curriculum review, group sharing of updated practices they utilized this year, and strategizing ways to overcome barriers to successful implementation of the Cognitive Behavioral Intervention in Schools (CBITS) and Healing Ethnic and Racial Trauma (HEART) groups.
