Description:
This workshop will look at some of the reasons that leadpeople to consume alcohol and how this can be associated with suicidalideation. The workshop will include a discussion of the six core principlesrelated to working with individuals struggling with both addiction and a desireto live. The latter part of the workshop will highlight some treatmentconcerns, cultural considerations, and how COVID-19 has impacted substanceuse. 

 Training Objectives:

•Attendees will experience a review of the six coreprinciples and how to embody best practices within.

•Attendees will learn some recent research findings on SUD,crisis services, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

•Attendees will enhance their learning around incorporatingsubstance use assessment in crisis situations.
