1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men in the United States have been or will be victims of severe physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime. Domestic Violence (DV) and Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) are incredibly prevalent in our society, and in our communities. This presentation will explore the foundational aspects of DV and IPV 101- definitions, statistics, Power and Control wheel, barriers victims and survivors face, how to support those in our community experiencing this type of violence, how to refer and connect with DAIS, and the services DAIS offers in our community.

Learning Objectives:

-Recognize signs of Intimate Partner Violence
-How to support friends and loved ones experiencing this type of violence
-Learn how to refer to DAIS, and the variety of services DAIS has to offer in the community
